Snore recorder for iPhone

How loud was
last night?

Plug in your iPhone, set it on the nightstand, lock the screen. In the morning SnoreMeter reads the night back — every stretch of snoring, how loud it got, how it sounded — and nothing leaves the phone.

The classifier built into iOS listens all night and marks snoring and speech. SnoreMeter joins snores a breath apart into stretches, drops one-off coughs and creaks, and keeps the per-second loudness of the whole night. Estimates from the iPhone microphone — not a medical measurement.

02 dBWhat it hears

Snoring, sleep talk, and the room.

Snoring stretches

Each stretch keeps its start, length, peak loudness and a thumbnail of its shape. The loudest ones sit at the top of the morning list, ready to play.

Sleep talk

Words in the night are marked on the timeline and kept as short clips. Nothing is transcribed — you just get to hear it.

The room's quiet

The quietest fifth of the night becomes the noise floor. Loudness is always measured above it, so a fan or a city street doesn't inflate the score.

03 dBHow it sounded

Loudness bands, rhythm, tone.

The analysis card: loudness bands, breaths per minute, tone, halves of the night
quiet <10 dBlight <20loud <30epic 30+

Every stretch lands in a band by how far it rose above the room. The score weights the bands — an epic minute counts more than a quiet one — and caps at 100.

The rhythm comes from the stretch's own envelope — one snore per breath — and the tone from where its energy sits in the spectrum. Deep, mid or sharp; the number is there for the curious.

Week against week.

Nights are grouped Monday to Sunday with the week's average against the one before, so a change shows up as a number, not a feeling. Tag what was different — a late meal, a drink, a stuffy nose, sleeping on your side — and the tags ride along on every night.

With Coda on the same iPhone, nights after a lesson are tagged on their own and compared with the rest. The trend marks each Coda program week, so a quieter week lines up with the training that caused it. One tap opens today's lesson.

About Coda →

Without Coda, SnoreMeter is a complete recorder on its own. The two apps talk only through an App Group on the device — no account, no server.

06 dBPrivacy

The recording never leaves the phone.

Audio is analysed by the sound classifier built into iOS and stored only in the app's own folder. No upload, no account, no transcription. The sound of the newest seven nights is kept; older nights keep their numbers and waveforms. SnoreMeter sends anonymous usage events — a screen opened, a night finished — to a collector Pentarab runs itself, never audio, clips, scores or tags. The Privacy Policy lists every field.

08 dBQuestions

Before you press Start.

?Is SnoreMeter a medical device?

No. It is a recorder. The numbers are estimates from the iPhone microphone; it does not detect breathing pauses or sleep apnea and does not diagnose or treat anything. Breathing pauses or daytime sleepiness are reasons to see a clinician.

?Does it keep recording when the screen locks?

Yes. Start the night, lock the screen, end it in the morning. Keep the phone charging.

?How much space does a night take?

Around 115 MB of audio at the quality it records. The sound is kept for the newest seven nights; older nights keep their numbers, thumbnails and waveform without the audio.

?Does it work without Coda?

Yes, fully. Coda only adds the tag on nights after a lesson and the comparison that comes with it.

?Which iPhones?

iPhone on iOS 26 or later. The app is in English.
