Help for Typotypo on Google Play. Most questions are answered below — for anything else, we read and answer every email.
Common Questions
- Is anything locked behind a purchase? No. On Google Play, Typotypo is a paid app — you buy it once and every preset, gradient, pattern, frame, and export option is unlocked. Exports are never watermarked and there are no ads.
- Where do my exports go? To your gallery, in an album called typotypo. You can also send an export straight to another app from the share sheet.
- Why does the app never ask for photo permission? It does not need one. Typotypo uses the Android system photo picker, which runs outside the app and hands back only the picture you tapped. The app cannot see the rest of your gallery.
- Are my projects backed up? No. They live on this device only. There is no account and no sync, so export anything you want to keep.
- Can I use a poster commercially? Yes, as long as you have the rights to the image and the text you put in it. The fonts and patterns can be used inside your posters but not extracted and redistributed on their own.
- How do I split a line of text? Use the text editor’s split option — the app treats each part as its own element so you can style and position lines independently.
Purchases
Typotypo is a paid app bought once on Google Play. There are no in-app purchases and no subscription, so there is nothing to restore and nothing to cancel.
- Reinstalling on a new phone: sign in to the Google account you bought with, then Google Play → profile icon → Manage apps & device → Library, and install Typotypo. You are not charged again. Your projects do not carry over — they lived on the old device.
- Order history and refunds: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history, or play.google.com/store/account. Refunds follow the Google Play refund policy.
- Redeeming a promo code: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Redeem code.
Reminders
The poster reminder is off by default. Turn it on in Settings and Android will ask for notification permission at that moment. To change it later, use Settings inside the app or Android Settings → Apps → Typotypo → Notifications.
Deleting Your Work
Delete individual projects from the project list, or use the reset option in Settings to clear all of them at once. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data from Android Settings → Apps → Typotypo → Storage, removes everything the app holds. Posters already saved to your gallery are separate — delete those from your gallery app.
Troubleshooting
- An export failed or came out blank: very large canvases can run out of memory on older devices. Close other apps and try again.
- A background image will not import: unusual formats can fail. Try exporting the image from your gallery app first, then importing the copy.
- The app crashes or will not open: force-stop it from Android Settings → Apps → Typotypo, then reopen. If it persists, email us your device model and Android version.
