The camera preview is black, or never appeared
The app needs camera access to shoot anything, and iOS only asks once. If you declined, open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and switch Pizza Cutter on — or find Pizza Cutter in the app list at the bottom of iOS Settings, where Camera, Microphone and Photos all sit together. Then come back and the preview starts.
The microphone is a separate question: decline it and the app still works, it just records your take silently.
Why only one take?
Because the cutter needs a single continuous take to read. It scans the whole clip for the moments you actually moved, and places one effect at each of them — a judgement it can only make over one unbroken stretch of footage. Stitching several clips together would mean asking you to decide where the cuts go, which is exactly the work the app exists to take off your hands. So: about fifteen seconds, one take, and the edit is the app's job.
How Remix works
Remix re-runs the cutter on the take you already shot. It lands on a different set of moments and arranges your toppings differently, so you get a genuinely different edit without shooting again. Your original take is not overwritten — tap Remix as many times as you like, and save whichever cut you want. Changing the dough or the toppings and then remixing gives you a different result again.
Restoring a purchase
New phone, or a reinstall? Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. That re-checks the entitlement held against the Apple Account currently signed in on the device, so make sure it is the account you bought with. Subscriptions and the one-time purchase both restore the same way, and there is no second charge.
Redeeming a code
Codes are redeemed through the App Store, not inside Pizza Cutter:
- Open the App Store, tap your account photo at the top right, then “Redeem Gift Card or Code”.
- Enter the code, or use the camera to scan it.
- Open Pizza Cutter afterwards — the plan appears on its own. If it does not, tap Restore Purchases in the app’s Settings.
Managing or cancelling a subscription
Subscriptions are billed by Apple and managed in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancel there at least a day before the period ends, and you keep the plan until it runs out. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The one-time purchase is not a subscription and never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.
When you write to us
Include your iPhone model, your iOS version, the Pizza Cutter version, and what you did just before it went wrong — which dough and toppings were loaded, and whether it happened while recording, while the cutter was running, or on export. Please do not attach private videos, passwords, or payment details.
