Help for DripLine on Google Play. Most questions are answered below — for anything else, we read and answer every email.
Common Questions
- How is the drip rate calculated? Drops per minute = (volume in mL × drop factor in gtt/mL) ÷ time in minutes. Enter the volume, the duration, and the drop factor printed on your administration set, and the app does the arithmetic and shows the working.
- Which drop factor should I use? The one on the set you are actually using — it varies by manufacturer. Common macro sets are 10, 15, or 20 gtt/mL and micro sets are 60 gtt/mL, but read the packaging rather than assuming. You can save your own drop factors in Settings.
- Can I run more than one timer? Yes. Each timer keeps its own label, room, note, and completion time, and the list shows what is due next.
- Should I put a patient’s name in the note? No. Use a room or bed number instead. The field is free text stored unencrypted on your device, and anyone who picks up an unlocked phone could read it.
- Does the app talk to the pump, or to a hospital system? No. DripLine works entirely from numbers you type in. It makes no network request of its own and connects to no device.
- Is my data backed up or synced? No. Everything is on this device only. There is no account and no way to move records to another phone.
Alerts Not Arriving
The completion alert is a local notification scheduled by Android, so Android has to be allowed to deliver it. If an alert is late or missing, check all of these:
- Notifications are allowed: Android Settings → Apps → DripLine → Notifications.
- Alarms & reminders are allowed: Android Settings → Apps → DripLine → Alarms & reminders. Without this the alert falls back to an inexact alarm and may fire late.
- Battery optimisation is not restricting the app: Android Settings → Apps → DripLine → Battery → Unrestricted.
- The app has not been force-stopped. A force-stop cancels scheduled work until you open the app again.
Even with all of that set, treat the alert as a convenience, not a safeguard. Observe the patient and the line directly.
Purchases
DripLine is a paid app bought once on Google Play. There are no in-app purchases and no subscription, so there is nothing to restore and nothing to cancel.
- Reinstalling on a new phone: sign in to the Google account you bought with, then Google Play → profile icon → Manage apps & device → Library, and install DripLine. You are not charged again. Your timer records do not carry over.
- Order history and refunds: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history, or play.google.com/store/account. Refunds follow the Google Play refund policy.
- Redeeming a promo code: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Redeem code.
Deleting Your Data
Open Settings → Delete all data to permanently remove every local timer and record. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data from Android Settings → Apps → DripLine → Storage, does the same. Nothing is held on a server.
