Privacy Policy

Pentarab built Dreamquill, a dream journal with dream interpretation for iPhone. The short version is simple: your dreams stay on your iPhone. Dreamquill has no account, and nothing you write is uploaded — not to Pentarab and not to anyone else.

The dreams you record, the readings, your answers to reflection questions, your rewritten endings and your deep readings are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's own storage, protected by iOS data protection.

• Dreamquill has no server for your writing. Pentarab never receives the text of a dream, an answer or a reading.
• Every reading — Korean dream lore, dream psychology, Jungian psychology and the typical-dream figures — is produced by the app on your device.
• Journal export (Pro) hands your journal, as text, to the iOS share sheet; where it goes from there is your choice.
• Deleting all dreams in Settings, or deleting the app, removes this data from your iPhone.

You can speak a dream instead of typing it. Dictation uses Apple's speech recognition in on-device mode only, so your voice is transcribed on your iPhone and is not sent to Apple's servers, to Pentarab or to anyone else. The audio is not stored and not sent anywhere; only the resulting text is kept, in your journal on the device.

• Dictation asks for microphone and speech recognition permission the first time you use it.
• You can always type instead; dictation is optional.
• You can revoke microphone and speech recognition access at any time in iOS Settings.

The deep reading is written by Apple's on-device foundation model (Apple Intelligence). It runs on your iPhone; your dream is not sent to Pentarab or to any third party to produce it.

If you turn on the morning reminder, Dreamquill schedules a local notification on your device. No push server is involved. You can turn it off in the app or in iOS Settings.

Dreamquill sends anonymous usage information to an analytics collector Pentarab runs itself (a Cloudflare Worker). It is not Google Analytics or Firebase, and the data is not passed on to any third party. It includes:

• A random install identifier the app generates on first launch. It is not the advertising identifier and is not linked to your identity.
• A session identifier, the app version, and your device model, iOS version and locale.
• Which screens and features are used — for example, that a dream was recorded, how many symbols were found, or which lens was opened.

Analytics never includes the text of your dreams, answers or readings, your voice, or information that directly identifies you. It is used only to improve the app. The receiving server records a country from the connection itself and does not store your IP address.

Dreamquill is a paid app with an optional Dreamquill Pro subscription. Purchases and subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple. Pentarab does not receive or store your payment details. The app checks your App Store entitlement to unlock Pro and supports restoring purchases through Apple.

• Dreamquill has no account, sign-up, profile, or social feature.
• Dreamquill contains no advertising and no third-party SDKs (no Firebase, no ad networks).
• Dreamquill does not access the advertising identifier, does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
• Dreamquill does not sell personal information or share it with data brokers.

Dreamquill does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It has no accounts, public posting, messaging, or advertising.

If Dreamquill changes how it handles information, this policy and its date will be updated before that change ships.
