This Privacy Policy explains how Glaze handles information. The short version: your photos and videos never leave your device through Glaze. Camera, photo, and video processing happens on your device, and Glaze never uploads your media.
Your Media Stays On Your Device
Photos and videos that you capture or select, along with any edits or effects you apply, are processed entirely on your Apple device. Glaze has no media upload service and does not transmit your photos or videos to Pentarab or any third party.
- Camera, photo, and video processing is performed on your device.
- Glaze never uploads your photos, videos, or exports.
- Glaze does not use your media for analytics, advertising, or training.
- Glaze does not collect or use the advertising identifier (IDFA).
Camera and Photo Library Access
Glaze requests camera or photo library access only when you choose a feature that needs it. Apple controls these permissions, and you can review or change them at any time in Settings. Access is used only to provide the feature you selected.
Face and Person Segmentation Data
Glaze does not perform face detection, facial-landmark extraction, facial recognition, identity matching, or biometric profiling.
When you enable the Background-only visual effect, Glaze uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to create a temporary person/background mask and a coarse subject position solely to render the live effect. These derived values are processed only in memory during the active camera session. They are not saved, uploaded, shared with Pentarab or any third party, or included in Firebase Analytics.
- No face detection, facial landmarks, face recognition, identity matching, or biometric templates are ever generated.
- Person segmentation is performed entirely on your device using Apple Vision and is used only for live effect rendering.
- Segmentation masks and subject positions are held transiently in memory and are discarded when the camera session ends.
- No segmentation data is included in analytics, advertising, or shared with any server.
- Photos and videos leave Glaze only when you explicitly choose to save or share an export.
Exports and Sharing
Glaze exports media only when you ask it to. An export goes to your Photos library or to a destination you select through Apple's share sheet. Glaze does not choose or receive the destination. Once you send media to another app or service, that destination's own privacy policy applies.
Analytics
Glaze sends pseudonymous events about feature usage — which screens or tools are used — to an analytics service Pentarab runs itself. It is not Google Analytics, and the data is not passed on to any third party. These events help Pentarab understand and improve the app.
Analytics never includes your photos, videos, or exported media, and Glaze does not collect IDFA. The data is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. The receiving server records a country from the connection itself and does not store your IP address.
Purchases
Glaze Pro subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment and subscription management. Pentarab does not receive or store your payment card details.
Children
Glaze does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Media remains on the device, and the pseudonymous analytics described above never includes media or IDFA.
Changes to This Policy
If Glaze's data handling changes, this policy will be updated and the revision date above will change.
