Privacy Policy

Pentarab built Artoon, an app that turns the photos you choose into AI-generated artwork and sticker packs across dozens of styles, offered with an auto-renewing weekly subscription. This Privacy Policy explains what information Artoon handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. We designed Artoon to handle as little of your data as possible and to keep your photos private.

Generating art is the only time Artoon sends anything off your device. When you tap Generate, the single photo you selected is uploaded over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to Pentarab's processing service, which forwards it to a third-party AI image-processing provider that works on our behalf, to render your chosen style. Your photo is used solely to fulfill that one generation request.

• We do not require an account, name, email, or login to use Artoon.
• We do not store your uploaded photo in any database or profile. It is held only transiently to perform the generation and is not retained on our servers afterward.
• The generated image is returned to your device and saved locally in the app’s History. It is not kept in a Pentarab account.
• The finished image is kept on our service for at most one hour, reachable only through a random single-purpose link, so your device can download it. It is then deleted automatically.
• If you allow notifications, the app also sends your device’s notification token with the request so we can tell you when your art is ready. The token is used only for that one alert, is never logged, and is deleted once the alert is sent or within six hours, whichever comes first.

The image transformation itself is performed by fal.ai, an AI image-processing service operated by fal, Inc., acting as our service provider (a data processor). To generate your art, the single photo you selected is transmitted to that provider over an encrypted connection and processed solely to fulfill that one request. The provider is bound by terms that give protections equivalent to those described in this policy: content submitted for processing is not used to train AI models and is not retained after your request is fulfilled, and it may not use your photo for any purpose of its own. We do not sell your photos, and we never share them with anyone other than this provider, and only for the sole purpose of creating the image you requested.

When you make a sticker pack, Artoon sends your photo the same way as any other generation and receives one sheet of nine drawings back. Everything after that happens on your device: cutting the sheet into stickers, removing backgrounds, adding and editing captions, and preparing the stickers for export. Your captions and edits are never sent to us.

Stickers leave the app only when you choose a destination. If you tap Add to WhatsApp, the app hands the sticker images, the pack name, the publisher name, and links to Artoon's store pages directly to the WhatsApp app on your device. If you share to Telegram or another app, or save to Photos, the sticker images go only where you send them. Pentarab does not receive a copy, and what happens in those apps is governed by their own privacy policies.

Artoon's features are unlocked through an auto-renewing weekly subscription sold via the Apple App Store. All payments and billing are processed by Apple — Pentarab never receives or stores your payment card details, Apple Account, or billing address.

To confirm that your subscription is active and to enforce fair-use limits, the app sends Apple's cryptographically signed transaction (StoreKit) to our service. From it we derive an anonymous transaction identifier. This identifier is used only to (1) verify your subscription entitlement and (2) count your generations against the daily and weekly limits below. It is not linked to your name or identity, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or services.

To keep the service fast and sustainable, Artoon enforces daily and weekly generation limits tied to that anonymous identifier. For this we store only a small per-identifier counter and its reset timestamps — never your photos or generated images. When a limit is reached, generation pauses until it automatically resets.

The following stays on your device and is never sent to us:

• Your generation History — the images you created and the original photos you generated them from.
• Your sticker packs, including their captions and edits.
• App settings and preferences.

This on-device data is removed when you delete the app. You can also delete individual items from within the app.

To understand how the app is used and to improve it, Artoon sends usage events to an analytics service that Pentarab runs itself. It is not Google Analytics, and the data is not passed on to any third party. The events record which screens you open and which features you use, together with an install identifier — a random value the app generates on first launch. It is not derived from your device and is not an advertising identifier; reinstalling the app produces a new one. Your photos and generated images are never included.

This data is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, is not linked to your personal identity, and is not shared with data brokers. Artoon does not collect the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), so no tracking prompt is shown. The events are received by a Pentarab server, which records the country from the connection itself — the app never sends it, and it is country-level only. Your IP address is not stored.

Artoon contains no third-party advertising and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Aside from the pseudonymous usage analytics described above, we do not sell or share your data. Photo data is used only to produce the art you asked for.

All data sent for generation is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Because we do not retain your photos beyond the short windows described above or build user profiles, there is no stored library of your images for anyone — including us — to access.

Artoon is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.

You are responsible for the photos you upload. You should only upload images you own or have the right to use, and you must not use Artoon to create content depicting real people without their consent. See our Terms of Use for the full acceptable-use rules.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Artoon after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
